Industrial Dust and HSE Prevention Measures

Implement assessment, monitoring, containment, filtration, vacuuming, cleaning, training, and PPE use to reduce industrial dust risks.

Industrial dust is a very common hazard.

It takes one of the first places among the causes of occupational diseases. Both the production process itself, as well as its environment, affect the human body, and this effect is multifaceted.
People deal with dust in most industries ,as most technological processes generate its release into the air of the working area of workers, with almost all workers at risk, since the air is to a certain extent polluted with industrial dust.

Dust formation depends on how operational process itself is structured, what methods of production are used, what is the nature of the raw materials, what intermediate and finished products are obtained. Therefore, one of the most important tasks of occupational hygiene is the fight against industrial dust.

How IDM can assist to reduce the risks related to industrial dust?
Take organizational and technical measures:
  • Start with dust assesment, conduct due diligence to determine the issue and proceed with availalble solutions.
  • Provide a real-time dust monitoring system.
  • Design, develop and implement misting systems and fog cannons to contain & minimize elevation of dust.
  • Design, develop and implement Air Filtration System for collection of airborne dust.
  • Design, develop and implement Centralised Vacuum System to collect dust that have escaped primary barriers and ensure work surfaces/footpath  are clean
  • Supply Industrial Sweepers  for path & roadways.
What can workers do in production to protect themselves?

Take Dust Awareness training , understand  the hazards, combustible dust, maintenance, use of cleaning eqipment and dust disposal procedures

Use high grade PPE kit , Full face mask & filters, light wear high visibility clothing.  Use certified air blower at end of each shift for dust removal.
